Before and After (Kitchen)

Due to popular request, here's a before and an after picture of a corner of the kitchen. Y ou see we've discovered this mysterious wooden box that encloses a concrete opening to a shaft going up to a chiminey, we think! We'll have to hear with Carl, my Father-in-law, if we can take it all down or if we have to build around it.

PS: The green bottle is ammonia which we've used to clean all the ceilings and walls before we painted! Stinky!

Painting away!

Hello again!
Simon and I are painting away in the new apartment before we move in. Her'es some mpix of Simon painting and taking a much needed meal break. Also, a picture of last night's sunset seen from our balcony!

We're about half-way done now as we aim to get both bedrooms and the living room done before Simon family comes to stay one night in the apartment Wednesday before they go to visit Simon's brother, Gisle, in England. We've paited for about 4 days now and are getting a little sick of it ;) but it's great to see such a positive difference!

I'll be back with some more pix of the kitchen which we've almost totally taken out!

FA-Cup Champions

Liverpool wins FA-Cup Thriller!!!
Here you see Pepe Reina (left) the hero goalkeeper after saving 3 penalties in the shoot-out and captain Steven Gerrard (center) who put Liverpool in extra time after his equalizer in extra-time! Stevie will surely be one of England's biggest assets this summer in the World Cup in Germany...

Climbing in Mallorca

Mikko (my master's advisor, climbing buddy and researcher here at the Inst. of Marine Research) has generously sent some more pix from our climbing excursion with Jon Pitchford (mathematician from the Univ. of York) after the workshop we all attended. It was a great place for my first-ever outdoor climb! Thanks to Jon for letting me borrow his helmet (I told him my Mother and Grandmother would be very thankful! :))

Hi all!
Time to post some good pix from the workshop in Deia, Mallorca (where we stayed at a lovely resort with a 32 meter pool) plus weekend in Palma de Mallorca! We had great weather in Palma and during our climbing excursion to Valldemossa. My master's advisor, Mikko, will send me more climbing pix later.

Hola from Deja, Mallorca! 75 degreees and fantastic to behere on a working vacation in this little mountain village resort. Our workshop schedule is from 8-7 everyday, but we have a 2 hour lunch break for swims and sunning! We all feel really privledged to be able to attend such a luxurious workshop! More piux later!
