Hello everyone!
Here's some pix fro mour pilgrimmage to Anfield Road, Liverpool Football Club's historic home field on July 4th. We toured the museum that showed 2 documentaries on the club and the latest huge Champion's League title (May 25th, 2005), the 5th in the club's history, which allows them to keep the cup FOREVER! Here you see Simon posing proudly with the Cup as well alongside Liverpool's most successful manager, Bill Shankly.
Downtown Liverpool was very pleasant as the town is putting on it's best face for the Euro 2008 city of culture expo. But next time, we'll be sitting in the stands watching our favorite team!!
Love, Dolly and Simon.
Hello!
This weekend we had Simon's grandmother and aunt and uncle and cousin, Ingrid, visit us in our new (almost finished!) apartment. We had a great time watching USA vs. Italy (1-1: Americans still alive!) and taking the double-decker bus around town.
This kitchen is making progress and SImon used the stove top (induction) for omlettes this morning and the oven for trout for the very first time! Everything was tasty!
These things remain in the kitchen to do:
install the cabinent/drawer handles
install the facucet and hook-up the dishwasher (our friend Roy is coming tomorrow evening to help us! he's a plumber!)
lay the tiles above the counter-tops (Simon will do this sometime this week...)
Here's a video of Simonand Josefine, the former taping the kitchen counter in preparation to cut out the hole for the kitchen sink. Josefine really likes to watch what's going on!
Our friends Linda and Jon are visiting us rom Molde this week and Sunday night we leave for Galway, Ireland for my fisheries management conference/vacation.
Have a great week!

PS: Happy (American) Father's Day, Dad and Grandad!!!! :) :)
Here's my brother, Paul (18), who just graduated from East Noble High School in Kendallville, Indiana just like his three older sisters (me being the oldest!) and his mom an dad. He will be attending Concordia University at River Forest starting this August. We'll see if he can serve a tennis ball this hard there, too!
Below you will find all the pix from his Graduation party (thanks for the pix, Mom!). Enjoy and Good Luck on and off the court at college, Paul!!
Love, Dolly.
Well, before Carl and Else had to rush off on Sunday evening in order to catch the last ferry, Carl wanted to take one MORE thing (besides ALL the great tools he needed to install the kitchen!) with him back to Volda: the kitchen sink!! Rather, our old kitchen sink! :)
So now we can say he took everything AND the kitchen sink!
The electrician comes tomorrow to hook up all our appliances, but in the meanwhile we still need to put up the cabinet doors and drawers and such. Still a lot of work, I'll keep you updated...

Now here's some pix from our big move to our new apartment and the kitchen remodelling this past weekend with help from Carl and Else (Simon's parents) and Elise and Ingrid, Simon's aunt and cousin. We couldn't have done it without them! You can see how much noise the saw made by how Ingrid is holding her ears!
Hello again!
Here's Dolly reporting after a hectic weekend moving! Now we are all moved in to the new apt. and just have to finish washing the floors in the old apt. before we give up the keys. Josefine (our cat) is enjoying all the new space and the balcony we have. She's itching to get outside in the BEAUTIFUL weather here (sunny, 80 deg!) and to play (or stay away!) with the neighbor's cat, Mons (who's not yet castrated!)
Carl and Simon has extra challeneges in the kitchen since the walls and floor were anything but plumb and level, but now the skeleton of the kitchen is in place and we just have to install the sink and applicances and get the doors on the cabinents...
Tonight USA plays the Czech Republic so Simon and I will meet David, my co-worker from the Czech Republic, at the pub after work for some dinner and hopefully the first US victory on European soil!
Will post videos and pix when we get our computer at home online (hopefully tonight or tomorrow!) In the meanwhile, here's some pix Catherine (my sister) sent from Paris, where they, too, have beautiful sunny weather! Jean-Loius, Catherne's host dad, is looking very French as usual and Catherine seems to be resting her salsa feet and hips! :)
Snakkes!
